El Verger
El Verger, located in the south of the province of Valencia and north of the province of Alicante, is only 86 km away from these two large cities.
One of the town’s main attractions is its proximity to both the sea and the mountains, allowing visitors to enjoy hiking in the Segaria mountains as well as windsurfing and other water sports.
Some points of interest include the Torre del Blanc de la Cremadella, probably built between the 13th and 14th centuries, and the Torre del Palacio de los Medinaceli, a true emblem of 16th-century El Verger. The Casa del Trapig is an old sugar mill, also dating from the 16th century, which you should include in your itinerary so you can admire its incredible stone millstones.
We can then visit its neoclassical church and the adjoining courtyard of the Senyoreta de la Bassa house. The old soap factory, now a cultural centre, will also be of interest.
Finally, we must highlight the festivities in honour of the patron saint, La Virgen del Rosario, and the spectacular Moors and Christians parade held every 15th of August.
